The skunk is an omnivore and its feces are fairly indistinct. They do look mushy and brown. The feces are the same as that of the house cat, but they are not formed well. The skunks are nocturnal and they will not venture out in the day often. Finding the secondary clues that they are in your place is the right way of identifying the skunk infestation. The secondary clue is the consistent presence of the scat of the skunk. It indicates that the pests will be residing near your home. In addition to the feces, holes dug in the ground will have a distinct skunk smell and usually the animals live in their close proximity.

If you have a problem with a skunk in your garden, then you can use a fence to prevent it from entering into the yard. The fence can limit the skunk from entering small sheds, yards and fields. The measures will not harm the skunk. The right way is to protect your area without interfering with the skunks. When you use the skunk trap, it will harm or kill the skunks, and it is not good to harm the skunks in seeking to protect your environment. You can also use a bright light so that the skunk can be kept away.
